The Edinburgh Contemporary Choir is a back for another exciting new term. We are currently looking for singers across Edinburgh to join our choirs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and to get involved in our amazing performances.
Our choir is open to all ages (18+), women and men, with no experience or daunting auditions required – everyone is welcome. We learn popular songs, with no need to read music, and exciting opportunities to perform throughout the year – our choirs have just performed at the Scottish Parliament, with more opportunities in the pipeline for later this year.
Complete the short form below to book a free taster rehearsal at one of our sessions, and come along and see for yourself.

Choose your choir:
West End Early – Wednesday nights, 6.00pm, St Cuthberts, Lothian Road, Edinburgh.
West End Late – Wednesday nights, 7.30pm St Cuthberts, Lothian Road, Edinburgh.
Pilrig – Thursday nights, 7.00pm, Pilrig St Pauls, Pilrig Street, Edinburgh.
There is no need for any experience whatsoever – our choir is all about getting the chance to sing with others, building vocal confidence, meeting new people and performing at amazing events, and we’d love you to be part of it.
We’re increasing in number all the time, with 3 choirs in Edinburgh, two choirs in Glasgow, and a number of workplace choirs. We’ve got a real mix of members, and all our choirs are ready to perform within the first 10 weeks – no experience required, no need to read music, and everyone is welcome!
We rehearse throughout the year, with a minimum of 40 rehearsals per year across four 10 week terms. Each term we have at least one performance to look forward to, as well as spending time brushing up on our repertoire to make sure we’re always sounding great.
Try out the choir everyone’s talking about now, with a free taster at our Pilrig or West End rehearsals, or become a member now for just £25 per month.
Our choir is all about regular performances, with opportunities throughout the year to take part in a variety of events. Most recently, we’ve performed at the Scottish Parliament, the National Museum of Scotland, Gardening Scotland and many others. We’ve usually got something amazing in the works, with performances at least once per term, and all our members are eligible to take part – even if you’re a brand new member.
There’s no additional cost to taking part in our performances, and absolutely no obligation to sell tickets to friends and family. Most of the events we perform are free to attend, and while we encourage you to bring supporters for the day, there’s absolutely no pressure to do so. Given the number of performers we bring to each performance, there’s usually a very supportive crowd!
If you’ve got an event you’d like to suggest and you think we would be a good fit, get in touch through our Book Our Choir page.
